Introduction:
Our featured testimonial is from Bob Groneman of California. Bob is relentless in his pursuit of the ultimate home theater system. His job is in the High End CRT business and his video set up at home is the same thing used by NASA, the
film studios and the Pentagon.
Acoupower worked with a partner of ours to come up a one of kind subwoofer of exceptional performance and appearance. The result was a beautiful cabinet
loaded with two Acoupower 15" drivers and one of our high performance 10"
diameter ports. This system has 6dB more output and less distortion than
Krell's "Master Reference" subwoofer and was 1/6 the cost (including amplifier).
To whom it may concern,
My name is Bob Groneman, I have been an audio-video enthusiast for
over 30 years. I have never written a letter of recommendation for a company
or component. Ever. No single component's performance
had ever created a complete mental paradigm shift of what was possible.
Until now.
Like most residential home theaters, mine used popular subwoofers
Available: Velodyne, Sunfire, REL etc. To a unit, the Velodyne's failed.
They melted. They went silent. One unit didn't work out of the box. The
Sunfire's were reliable, but something was missing. REL the same. I
complained ad nauseam to an audio buddy of mine of sub standard bass
performance of currently available subwoofers. We were in full agreement
that this area of audio is the most over hyped and under achieving. Through
research, we discovered Carlos Beltran's Acoupower bass drivers. After a
brief phone conversation, two things became glaringly apparent. This guy
understood the limitations of subwoofer performance, and more importantly he
had designed and built 15 and 18 inch bass drivers that suffered no such
limitations.
I was guardedly optimistic at this point, as I explained to Carlos, "You have built the drivers, but I am not a cabinet or enclosure maker."
Carlos Beltran then put me in touch with a partner of his who immediately
understood what I was looking for and had as much enthusiasm for the project
as I did.
While it would take the next 10 pages to correctly describe this
unit's capabilities, a few short words will have to suffice. Unparalleled.
Unique. Revelatory. Frightening. But one simpler word describes it best;
correct.
The bass from this unit is correct. Webster's dictionary's definition of the word is as follows: "to make right; to bring to standard of truth; to
point out or remove faults or errors in." This has been achieved.
I am not an employee of Mr. Beltran or his partner. I received no
financial compensation for writing this. Some things the public just needs
to know. If you want the best bass performance available, contact Mr.
Beltran. If not, disregard this letter. That burning smell coming from
living room? It's probably your subwoofer melting down... again.

Epilogue,
We spoke with Bob after we received his letter, to thank him for the kind words. He had one more thing to add. A few of his friends keep asking him if he has played the
U505 depth charge scene. His answer: "No, I am too scared".
We can't blame him.
