Would having my ps3 sit on top of my sub woofer be bad for the console?
I’m re-arranging my room and the only spot i can think to put my ps3 is on top of my sub woofer. Could that hurt the console due to the magnets inside the sub woofer even if it has a thick wood casing? PLEASE HELP.
Magnets do not damage the system. The Blu-Ray Drive actually has an extremely powerful magnet (I’m talking like holds back a freaking rig powerful) inside it. The magnets should be a problem. I don’t see anything wrong with it as long as you don’t listen to too much heavy bass. Good luck.
PS3 FTW!

I am the proud owner of a gorgeous 80GB PS3
the ps3 has amazing shielding and i’m sure the subwoofer will too. so the ps3 should be fine. overheating isnt a problem either.
and a subwoofer is the "bass" of speakers.

Even if the magnets aren’t a problem (which I strongly disagree with by the way), the vibrations from the sub will cause problems for the PS3 hard drive, as computer hard drives do not like vibrations or shock.
A subwoofer really is not a good place for the PS3. I refuse to believe its the only place you can put it in your room. Jeez, you don’t have a box lying around or something? Even the possibility of damage from bass vibrations alone isn’t worth risking your expensive investment.

Don’t stick it on the sub woofer as the vibrations from it can mess up the ps3. If you have to, just stick it on the floor.

The vibration from the sub woofer could damage it, it could harm the hard drive and cause your data to get corrupted, or it could cause components in the PS3 to work loose, so I strongly advise against it, lol,

I Don’t think so. I have had my PS3 on top of my subwoofer since I bought my speakers a little less than a year ago and I haven’t had any problems at all. I put it on there so it wouldn’t take up any space anywhere else.
