I’m going to make a sub woofer speaker, I just want to know which is better flared port or slot port?
I’ll be using a 10" sub woofer speaker.
Latly wat seems to be catching on is multi porting, a sloted port on each side. Yamaha, I feel did it better. The sub fires down and they built a plastic ring on the bottom which flares it out in all four directions.

The "flare" is to help minimize any port noise caused by the air rushing in and out of the port, but this may make it more difficult to do your calculations for tuning.
Go with the flared port if you can.
