how do i connect a sub-woofer to a denon avr-1610 receiver?

when i connect the sub-woofer it dosent have any sound. i already have a one Bose sub-woofer hooked up but i also tried to disconnect that one and connect the other sub-woofer still dosent work. also after moving to a new house and setting my sorruond sound up it seems like the base just went away from the original sub-woofer.
ok i went to menu and that solved the base issue, how about the speakers?

Check speakers setting on receiver set up menu.
