How to use both normal speakers and speakers built in my moniter simultaneously for my computer?

I have two speakers that produce amazing sound (+ huge subwoofer) and I just got the HP 2009m flat screen moniter that has built in speakers. I was wondering if I could use both of them to get a bit more sound power? Thanks!

Yes. Go to Radio Shack (or some other electronics store) and ask for a y-cable for a 1/8" headphone jack. You can plug both sets of speakers into the y-cable and the y-cable into the PC.

  2. This is what you need:

You insert it in your PCs sound card and after that connect both the speakers integrated into your display and the 2.1 speaker system.
    Ask for :
3.5mm Stereo Audio Headphone Jack Y-Splitter 1 Male to 2 Female
in any cable store or computer store…they should provide you with exactly this thing.
