To be exact, the curie temperature for ferrite (MnOFe2O3) is 573 K, so heating up until the glue sizzles is enough and harmless.(no more than a few minutes)

If you take a look …
If you take a look at wikipedia-ferromagnetism, you will see a table giving the so-called Curie temperatures at which demagnetization happens. Heating it like in this movie in a fire will not do the damage you mention unless the material becomes red-hot, so a few hundred degrees K don’t do the damage.

Heating a magnet like that should also destroy its field, or at least, decrease the strength.
