Who makes really good car audio equipment?

What are the best quality or highest names in car audio? Like, where does Kicker or Polk Audio or Rockford Fosgate rank as far as overall quality and value? What, in your opinion, is the best car audio amp/sub/speaker maker?

I am not very fond of kicker because they have terrible bass and sound quality but there amps are good. Polk audio is not that great either just a budget brand as i would say, rockford fosgate is pretty good, well sound quality and most of there subs hit hard. But in my opinion the top 3 brand for subs would be (1) fi btl, (2) Sundown audio (3) Digital designs but there are a lot of great brands. Hope this helped!

How do I get car audio manufacturers to sponsor me?

I’ve always been interested in competing in car audio sound competitions. I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe Z71 but I don’t have the money that it would take to install a system that would meet the standards for competition. I was wondering how would I get car audio manufacturers to sponsor me so I can get a bangin system in my ride to compete with?

you either need to be
1. a high level dealer for the brand that you want to sponsor you,or
2. someone who has past experience WINNING car audio competitions or car shows on a national level.
basically, if they have never heard of you or remember seeing your cars before they are not going to give you thousands of dollars worth of equipment for free. you also need to understand that the people who get sponsored have to sign a contract saying how many large events they will attend each year. its usually 3 per month during the show season. so almost every weekend all summer you would be at a large national show. if the nearest show that weekend is three states away. pack a bag because you are going. oh, and by the way. the sponsor does not normally pay your expenses for those trips. so the gas, food and hotel room comes out of your pocket.

just buying your equipment is looking better and better, huh?

google the type sub woofer it is and download the owners manuel.every good sub woofer will give you the measurements in cubic feet.build the en closer as close to the makers spec’s as possible.a cubic ft is a 12 inch by 12 inch square,you know a 12" by 12" box is one cubic ft.the best way is to buy the en closer already made.its not worth the head ake.

My sub woofer shakes the entire house while I’m getting fine sound from the speakers. Is there any way to maybe even disconnect the subwoofer?

It would have helped if you had said what make and model subwoofer this was, how it is connected, and so on.

A powered sub has a power plug, and often a volume knob that you could use to power the output of the sub.

I want a good computer sub woofer for under 125 dollars that puts out a good thud. I don’t want speakers, just the sub woofer.

I’m filming a car video, any advice on how to achieve that "Top Gear" look?

It seems nowadays that if you’re filming a car video, the look that the TV show "Top Gear" seems to get is what everybody is aiming for.

I’m shooting on a Canon 60D, and am serious film editor, but cinematography is a new area for me. I know Top Gear uses vignetting and various frame rates, but do any of you other advanced filmmakers out there have any advice as far as how to really capture that "Top Gear" feel?

The field cameras are likely ~$60,000 Sony DVW-790WSP units, which would be a cheap production camera.

They use filters that cost more than your 60D! lol

The so called "HD" from and cheap (under $2000) video camera or DSLR is highly compressed, making it a poor choice for anything bigger than a laptops screen. Because of the compression, any further rendering with effects is likely to rapidly further degrade the image. Time effects in particular are out of the question.

The best you can do is use what you have effectively. If you can, upgrade to MiniDv formats like DV (Standard, Canon ZR960 is $300 new, used GL-1s go for about $500) or HDV (the real deal, canon VIXIA HV40 is $1000)

Stable shots, go wider for faster action, and use minimal transformations and effects.

I own a cadillac escalade and I want to a picture of it in a video game. Since I am the owner is it legal for me to put a picture of my car in this game and label as a cadillac escalade?

Intellectual Property Rights is a topic covered by several platoons of attorneys in every big company. I don’t think you can tell by looking whether a game has Mercedes’ corporate approval or not, since that would be an issue between the game maker and Mercedes.

Without further info, I’d say, "Yes, it’s illegal." But the legality isn’t the issue- it’s the permission from the owner of an IPR right that really matters.

What size fuse should i use on my car amplifier?

I was wondering about my car amplifier power cord fuse. I recently blew an amplifier, and was wondering if it was because I had a fuse that was too high of a rating. My amplifier itself has a 40 amp fuse. It will be running 650 wattsx2 channels…should my power cable have a fuse with the same rating as the amplifier itself?

Scosche EAGU60-4 60 amp AGU Fuse High quality and high amp ratings. But it boils down to its a fuse.

i’m not looking for super fast cars, or don’t care even if the cars in the game are similiar to the real cars,
I’m looking for a car video game that has a variaty of vehciles,
I want a video game with Minivans, SUVS, trucks, pickup trucks, busses, ect!
not just the regular sport cars that are in most car video games,
does anyone know a video game like that?
