What computer speakers perform great with games and music?

I have been looking online for a while now but if one speaker is great for music, it sucks for gaming, or vice-versa. Is there a good pair of speakers running for $90 and under that would work great with both?

900 speakers and 10 sound card. ya see. i use $30 altec speakers. work good

How do I use my home theater system speakers rather than the tv speakers?

I have my panasonic viera TC-P42S1 tv hooked up with my HT-S5200 onkyo home theater system via HDMI cable. How do I use my home theater system speakers rather than the tv speakers? I’ve messed around with turning the tv speakers off, and I know that I have everything connected right. I just can’t find the option to switch from tv speakers, to home theater speakers. I’ve looked through my menu settings, and viera link. I need help please!

How is your cable or disc network connected to the tv. If it is connected to the tv you need to connect an optical cable from the tv to the Onkyo HT. When you want to hear the tv sound through the speakers you will need to select the source you connected the optical cable to the Onkyo system. Or you can connect the cable or disc network directly to the Onkyo versus to the tv. Hope this will help you out.

What type of speakers should i get for my 1998 ford explorer?

I still have the factory sound system installed in my car. I am looking to get new speakers, along with an amplifier and sub woofers Both front and rear speakers are 6×8". I have been looking at the kenwood party pack for subs, which gives two 12" subs and a 350W amp. So now I am trying to figure out which type of speakers offer very good quality sound. Also, should i get another amp to power those?

If you were to get first or second tier MBquart speakers, you wouldn’t need a subwoofer in a space as tiny as a car interior.

How do I know what kind of speakers I have in my home theater?

About ten years ago I bought a home theater system from a buddy of mine strapped for cash. I bought a receiver, tape deck, five-disc player with two large speakers.

Large = 20.5"x16"x36". They are carpeted, and have a large hole on the bottom to put a pole up into. There are carrying handles on either side, and the speakers must weigh 70-80 lbs.

The fronts are identical. Vertically, there are two circles with nipples in them (sorry, have no idea how else to describe), then a horizontal opening, then a large round "speaker" at the bottom.

There’s no markings on them on the outside, and I don’t want to tear into them too deep without knowing what I have.

The reason I want to know what to look for is because I want to sell the set-up, and need to know what I have.

Any help, websites, or suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks!

These speakers sound like Disco Speakers. The nipples you describe are probably the phase plugs of a pair of horn tweeters. The horizontal opening is probably a base reflex port to control the bass of the bass speaker. The hole in the bottom is for the pole of a speaker stand. The carrying handles are for transporting from place to place. As there are no markings it is likely these are hand assembled or kit speakers and as they are ten years old they are probably of very little second hand value although by their weight they may be of reasonable quality (the speakers not the cabinets). As they are carpeted (usually seen on car sub-woofers) makes me believe they are not commercial builds but home assembled units and may not perform as bass reflex disco speakers if they are not built to correct specifications.

How do i wire up a pair of speakers on my deck outside using the reciever i have indoors?

Okay i have 5.1 dolby installed in my living room and i want to add two speakers outside on my deck. i have two slot available for two more speaker but then it is either have the A speakers on or the B speakers on. I want to have them all on at the same time without having to connect it with another speaker. i want to be able to have just the inside speakers on or just the outside speakers on or both, but i want them to have their own channel. I don’t want to watch a movie and have the outside speakers on. so if you can help please do. thanx.

All you need to do it to get a speaker switch box such as the Monster Cable SS4 or SS6:

http://www.wildwestelectronics.net/moncabmul4pa.html
http://www.wildwestelectronics.net/moncabmulsel.html

These boxes will allow you to either connect 4 (see Monster SS4) or 6 pair (see Monster SS6) of speakers and use them all at the same without causing harm to your system.

Simple connect the main speaker outputs of your receiver to the speaker switch box amplifier inputs and then connect all of your speakers to the speaker switch box and your all set.

There is even a protection circuit on the switch box that will trip if your system for some reason goes into red alert.

Hope this helps.

How many feet of wire will I need to make my new speakers be the same volume as my old ones?

I recently bought some new bookshelf speakers to comnpliment some floor speakers in my home theater system. The news speakers can output 100 watts and are 4 ohms, and will require a mininum of 15 feet of wire. The old speakers can output 100 watts and are 8 ohms, and will require at least 10 feet of wire. The wire I’m using is 16AWG. Each set of speakers will be about three feet from the listener. My question is, how much wire will I need to run to each speaker to make them have the same volume, and how can I calculate this?
I should have been more specific. There are a pair of 8 ohm speakers (front) and a pair of 4 ohm speakers (surround). Each of these have a maximum of 100 watts.

The reciever itself does not have a way to adjust the volume on a specific speaker, just the system as a whole.

You can’t. speakers don’t output watts, unless you are talking about professional units, and 100 acoustic watts would deafen you pretty quickly..

You should worry more about your impedance. A 4 ohm and an 8 ohm paired will make somewhere around 2-3 ohms, which might fry your amp. You can go into a switching system, and then add volume controls if you really, really must match levels.
Also, nothing you have said indicates relative level. If you are using a home theater receiver, there should be level controls in the setup. If these are the back channels, just use those to set levels.

How do you connect speakers to a subwoofer?

The subwoofer has l/r speaker level out, l/r speaker level in and line in and line out jacks. I have five speakers. Can I connect the speakers directly to the subwoofer or do I need to get a reciever or is there an other way to connect the speakers?

You need a receiver to connect your speakers. L/R speaker level used to get signal from a receiver. How can you get audio signal from devices without receiver, you can’t connect directly subwoofer to device.
