how do you connect a turn on lead to a car amplifier?
im not sure how to do it.. at all. i just bought an amplifier wiring kit and it comes with a thin blue wire. i know it connects to the turn on wire thats in the back of my aftermarket stereo its just i dont know how to connect them.
Your going to have to remove your stereo from the dash to install the amp wiring kit. This will give you access to the RCA output jacks and let you connect the remote turn on wire also. It is usually a blue wire on the back of your stereo and may also be marked with a sticker or tag identifying it. Check out this guide for installing an amp. Good luck.

Should I get a car amplifier or car speakers?
I was wondering if I should get better car speakers for my Lexus RX 300 or should I just get a cheap amplifier. BTW My spending limit is 110.00. I’m only going to get back speakers or I might just get a 90.00 amplifier at best buy. What should I do? I have a best buy gift card which is why I can only get the speakers or amplifier at best buy.
thanks
Seems to me if you are Happy with the sound from your present system (speakers) then putting a amp in and over driving the speakers would cause a degrade in sound just more noise….. so if you want a better sound then replace the speakers.
Save your hearing and go with quality sound and not loud noise.
Your hearing can’t be replaced and loud noise deteriorates hearing … I know I worked around equipment and have lost my hearing. Sad when you can’t hear your grand kids laughter….
Keep the shinny side up and the dirty side down

I’m buying my boyfriend a car amplifier for Christmas and I know for sure he was looking on the 3 below, but I don’t know which one I should get. HELP PLEASE!
LANZAR VIBE236 1000 WATT 2 CHANNEL
Boss D800.2/D8002 2-Ch 1600 WATT 2 CHANNEL
Lanzar MXA232 1000 WATT 2 CHANNEL
The Boss is the better one Lanzar is not a very good brand Boss isn’t either but its better than Lanzar…Hifonics would be comparable to the Boss maybe a little better…

Can I convert a car amplifier into a home stereo amp?
Just wondering, can I take an amp out of my car and somehow connect the power output to an electrical outlet in the wall? I don’t plan on doing this, I’m just wondering if it’s possible.
It is possible but you need a hefty power supply.
A 13.8 volt DC 25 ampere bench-top power supply will push a 350 watt RMS total system at the cost of about $100 just for the supply.

Can I use a higher grade wire for a very low power car amplifier?
Hi!
I have a car amp wiring kit that is rated 100 watts to 1000 watt car amplifiers. The amplifier I have has a maximum power output of 50 watts with a built in 8" speaker. If I use a speaker that is rated for an amp much higher in power will it work at all? Will it affect sound quality and also is it safe to do?
Thanks all!
Perfectly safe. Its an overkill. You just wont get the most sound of the speaker if its rated much higher than the amp.

Can a pair of 1000W speaker be connected to a car amplifier to produce sound?
I have a pair of 1000W speakers, and I kind of wanting to use a car amplifier to produce the sound for the speakers which I am not sure whether is it possible. I seen videos using a computer power supply to power up the car amplifier then connected to speakers but I am not sure with the pair of 1000W speaker whether it is possible or not. For home used only.
you could use a lower power amp and power supply but that wont do much good you need atleast a 1500w psu with most of the AMPS on the 12v rail try and get a SINGLE rail or join all the 12v lines up and then join a green and a black up for the power to turn on the psu and join the rest of the blacks up for good ground

How to extend volume control on car amplifier?
Basically I have a small Dual 150 watt (RMS) amplifier. My radio is a bit older and has no low level RCA outputs or subwoofer volume control and I’m to cheap to upgrade it, I’m also to cheap to buy a newer amp. Basically my question is: is it possible to fabricate something to extend the volume control from the trunk to the front of the car. Could I just buy a potentiometer and some wire and do some soldering, or is there more to it than that.
Thanks in advance for any help.
dont think so. save up some money buy some new gear

What is the voltage required for the Remote part of a car amplifier?
trying to fix a car amplifier and wondering what the voltage is that i need to plug into the remote power port.
I would say like 10 to 12volts. If a car battery is dieing and it is only putting out 10 volts alot of the time the amp will still stay on. But 12 is a good same number.

How do you properly power a car audio amplifier at 14.4v?
I want to know how to power a car audio amplifier at 14.4v.
If I have an amp connected to a 12v battery(Kinetik) in my trunk that is connected to my 12v starting battery(Duralast) under my hood that is connected to my 200amp alternator, will I be running my amp at 14.4v?
When your car is turned on, your alternator and battery running together should run at 14.4v or higher. When your bass hits your voltage shouldn’t drop below 14.4v or your going to need a high-output alternator.
