What video car should i get for Asus P5E3 deluxe/WiFi-AP 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard?

im planning to build a gaming comp, my 1st time and don’t kno wat video card to get for this, that wont be over 200 but be cheap. also would like one that would also be future proof. i wont be palying high end games on it just semi-high end games like spore and c & c 3.

If you are not going to play any games that require high-end graphics, you won’t need an ATI Crossfire motherboard like the P5E3. The reason why that motherboard is so expensive is because of the Crossfire capability, for people who want to run 2 ATI cards for games with high-end graphics.

Why not just save the money and get a cheaper single-graphics-slot motherboard?

For games like C&C3 or Spore, grab a P43-chipset motherboard (which has a single PCIe 16x slot) and put any midrange nVidia or ATI card on it.

Whatever you do, don’t buy an ATI Crossfire motherboard and put an nVidia card on it. Such mismatches are a complete waste of money.

  1. Future proof is impossible.

Look at higher end nVidia 9800 card designs, or ATI 4850 / 4870 based cards.

  2. It’s impossible to get a future proof graphics card below 200. Like the guy above me said look for ATI 4870. That is future proof but costs around $350 and up to around $600. Depends on what card you get.
