Does it take a lot of gas or battery to leave on a car dvd player, air condition when not moving?
My car has a dvd player which can be only used when the car is not moving. So, if i turn the engine off, but watch a movie using the battery, will it run out? Or should i leave the engine on so the battery is recharged while watching the movie, but if i do this how much gasoline do i use in ex. a hour? one gallon?
Dvd players use very little battery life. if you’re worried about your battery dieing, take the time to test the voltage of the battery with the dvd player running. or if you don’t feel like taking that time but still feel uncomfortable, every hour turn the engine on for a couple minutes to have the alternator give the battery a charge.
I can almost guarantee that if you leave a dvd player running all night the battery will be fine in the morning. But if you are using the car speakers for sound instead of headphones, then the max will be about 4 hours, depending on the amps of the battery.
And air conditioning does not blow cold air when the engine is turned off, and running the air off the battery kills it quickly. highly suggest not doing that.
you should be ok but i would not do this for long periods of time

Idling a car uses a moderate amount of gasoline and depending on the idle speed, it may not produce enough power to charge the battery since it is taking some power to run the engine. Pumping the engine wastes gas. A 60 amp hour battery will run down far enough that it won’t start the car if you pull an amp for about 40 hours. If you are comfortable, you probably have no risk running the DVD for a movie with the engine off.
