What is the best way to disguise a (car audio) subwoofer?
I want to avoid theft and hide my car audio system. I am using the factory CD player and have mounted the amp and capacitor under the seats, but the sub won’t fit anywhere but in the back. How should I "disguise" my subwoofer in the back? I was thinking about throwing a blanket over it but I don’t think that will be enough. Also, would I lose any sound quality if I just threw a blanket over it? It’s a single 12" pioneer shallow subwoofer. Thank you!
people are going to hear you driving with the sub so they will know that you have something in the back. so might as well put it facing the rear and enjoy.
put your box upside down so that the sub is facing the floor. make sure there is atleast 2-3 inches between the sub and your floor so the cone has enough room to move. this should effect your sound quality much at all.

i run a small car audio business called "The Sound Mechanics" where we install decks, tv, speakers and all your other car audio needs. We also custom build sub enclosers to meet your specific needs.

keep factory HU. keep windows up,dont show it to EVERYONE you can think of. try to lay low. and you can build a box that makes the sub face the back of your seats but is completly flat if you look into the trunk and make sure the carpet matches
