Automotive question-On a fusible link from a car what amp is a 20 gauge fusible link equal to in amps?

replacing a fusible link with a fuse need to know the amp equal for a 20 gauge link.

It will start to fail somewhere around 18 to 22 amps. But fuse links will endure being slightly overloaded for a short period of time before they actually melt and break the circuit. That is why they are used in some circuits which can be intermittently overloaded. You may want to keep this in mind if putting in a fuse in place of a link. The fuse will blow when the circuit is only slightly overloaded. Where as a fuse link will usually only blow when it is really overloaded or shorted. You may want to carry a lot of spare fuses with you.
