How many amps does a car cigarette lighter put out?

I have a car accessory that requires 12 volts and 2 amps. I have a plug with wire on it that fits the accessory. Can I just wire this into a cigarette lighter plug and use it or do i have to regulate the amps some how? I don’t want to blow anything up!!

2A shouldn’t be a problem. The Cig lighter is probably on a 10-20A circuit. I commonly use mine to run a 200w inverter capable of providing 1.7A on the 120v output. The input current is probably 3A or more.
