We are often asked about amplifiers that are suitable for use with Acoupower
Drivers. Acoupower Drivers handle enormous amounts of power and they are 8
Ohms. Delivering 1-5kW of Power into 8 Ohms requires high voltage swings
that are out of the realm of most audio amplifiers. However, there are many
high quality amplifiers capable of delivering this voltage and power.

High power Professional Audio amplifiers can usually be bridged, and many of
them, from companies such as QSC, Crown, Powersoft, Crest, and many other
firms are good performance choices and are available at surprisingly low
prices (under $1,000). These amplifiers generally have excellent
performance and are much more robust that amplifiers typically seen in a
home or studio environment. The ONLY drawback to many of these amplifiers
in practice is that most often use a fan to cool themselves. Sometimes this
is a non issue because the fan noise is very quite and/or the amplifier is
in a separate room or closet. Most amplifiers have variable speed fans
that do not make a lot of noise until the amplifier is really putting out
enormous power. In cases where no fan noise can be tolerated, Crown's K1
and K2 amplifiers are a good option, as they are powerful, and do not use a
fan.

Powersoft from Italy has a few amplifier modules that are a great fit for
use with Acoupower drivers: These high performance modules start at just
$395 in quantities of 1 and also feature low cost digital filtering and
signal processing options. Here are the stats on a few of them:
DigiMod 1000 = 1,000W into 8 Ohms (Bridged)
DigiMod 1500 = 1,500W into 8 Ohms (Bridged)
DigiPower 3600 = 2000W into 8 Ohms (Bridged)
3600W into 4 Ohms (Bridged)
